1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the LoanWise mobile application (“LoanWise”, “we”, “the app”) handles information when you use the service. LoanWise is designed for personal loan tracking, payment schedule calculations, and payoff planning. The app is not a bank or lender, does not originate loans, and does not process repayments to your creditors.

By using LoanWise, you agree to this policy. If you disagree, please do not use the app.

2. Information we process

2.1. Account data

• Email address, name (if you provide it at sign-up or it is supplied by a sign-in provider).
• Password hash (for email registration; we do not store plaintext passwords).
• Identifiers and technical sign-in data from Sign in with Apple (and other supported sign-in methods, if enabled in the app).
• Authentication tokens used to maintain sessions between the app and our servers.

2.2. Loan and calculation data

• Information you enter: loan names, currencies, amounts, interest rates, terms, payment types (annuity / differentiated, etc.), dates, contract fees (if you fill them in), and records of payments you log.
• Calculated results and aggregates produced by the app and/or our servers for dashboards, schedules, and optional payoff insights.

This data reflects your personal financial picture; we use it only to operate the app’s features, not for credit scoring or selling lending products.

2.3. Premium subscription

• Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store and/or Google Play. We do not receive your full card details from those stores.
• We may receive transaction identifiers and subscription status from Apple/Google as needed to verify purchases and enable Premium in the app.

2.4. Technical data and logs

• Limited technical information such as device type, OS version, request timestamps, and error information as needed for API reliability, security, and abuse prevention (e.g., rate limiting).

2.5. On-device data

• Local payment reminders (if enabled): scheduling is handled on your device based on your loan data; we do not need to store notification content separately on our servers.
• App lock (biometrics / device PIN): handled by the operating system; we do not receive your fingerprints or face templates.

3. How we use information

We process data to:

• provide LoanWise features (account sync across devices, calculations, reports, and optional Premium payoff tools);
• maintain security, authentication, and fraud/abuse prevention;
• comply with legal obligations and respond to support requests when you contact us.

4. Legal bases and retention

Processing is based on performing our contract with you, your consent where required (including certain OS permissions), and legitimate interests (security and service improvement using minimized data). We retain data while your account exists and as needed for these purposes, unless a shorter period is required by law.

5. Sharing and subprocessors

We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing or access may occur:

• with hosting/cloud providers that store and process data for our backend, under confidentiality commitments;
• with Apple and Google when you use their sign-in or billing services, under their respective privacy policies;
• when required by law, such as valid legal process or requests from competent authorities.

6. Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the service (including HTTPS in transit and access controls on servers). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for safeguarding your password and device.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your data. You can delete your account and associated server data in the app settings. Canceling a Premium subscription is done in Apple/Google account settings and does not always delete your LoanWise account automatically. 8. Children

LoanWise is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. International transfers

Servers may be located outside your country. By using the service, you acknowledge that cross-border processing may occur where permitted and with appropriate safeguards where required by law.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is available in the app and/or at our public policy URL. The “Last updated” date appears at the top of this document.
